On Friday, June 1st, the 8th graders at Turrentine will have a special graduation picnic at the Mayco Bigelow Community Center sponsored by the PTO. Many exciting plans are under way for this day! If you are the parent of an 8th grader, your help is greatly needed to make this day successful and safe.
There are several planning committees that would welcome your help:
Fundraising: contact Amy Jepko at apjepko@triad.rr.com. We are currently looking for corporate sponsors.
Food and Decorations: contact Tammie Breedlove at alyevanstar@hotmail.com. We are currently working on a theme and menu.
Games & Activities: contact Bonita Brown at bbrown@alamancechildren.org. We are currently coming up with ideas for inside and outside games and activities for the students.
Volunteers/Chaperones on day of picnic: contact Helen Clary at Helen.Clary@yahoo.com. This class of approximately 300 students will require a minimum of 30 chaperones divided into morning (8:30am -11:30am) and afternoon (11:30pm -2:30pm) shifts. Chaperones might even want to stay all day! We need both Moms and Dads.
